Remember, YT is me (yours truly) and WP is The Most Wonderful Woman In The Entire World (wifey poo).
The following is a real, true conversation (made up crap) betwixt YT and WP!
YT: *gazing longingly at WP* "Have I mentioned how much you love me?"
WP: *vvvvveeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyy looooooooooonnnnnnnngggggggggg pause...* "Uuuuuummmmmm, yes dear?!"
YT: "Cool! Just checkin'"
and here's me girlie-friend:
Whoa, git a load of da pollen on dat babe!

Ha ha - love the conversation. But REALLY love the photo! That is incredible - what camera and lens did you use? Wow!
PS I just gave you a plug on my blog. Couldn't help it with this pic!
Meerkat: It really was a true conversation, not kidding! Thanks for the plug, BTW. Camera type: the latest b-day for WP (alomost a year ago) saw her receive a Fuji Finepix S6500fd. It's a very versatile camera. One lense on it, but it does a darned fine job. It's default program settings are so good I've forgotten what apeture, focal length, exposure etc are. This shot was from about 1 inch away using it's SuperMacro setting. I do know real photography, but can't be bothered when I need a quick shot. Very very good, inexpensive camera and it doesn't eat batteries as the zoom is manual (the 5600 eats batteries cus it's an electronic zoom).
Oh so it's Wifey Poo's camera... Your blog title should be "Alaskan Dave Down Under Using Wifey Poo's Camera". Does she ever get to use it? Or did you buy it so you could use it? ha ha!
Mine is a Canon (I pretty much use automatic too or the subject is gone). J bought it for me a few years back for Xmas and I have to re-explain how to use it to him every time I want a picture of me, which is why there are very few pics of me... which is probably a good thing.
The best bug I got was a dragonfly in Costa Rica - http://catamaranmeerkat.blogspot.com/2007/05/mon-05-07-07-palo-verde-national-park.html is the post. Interesting eyes he had.
Tell WP thanks for letting you use her camera - the rest of us enjoy it!
Your dragonfly pic is great; love the wings! WP and I use the camera about equally, it's put to very good use. The camera I want is the Nikon D40 (or better) with a plethora of lenses. I think I'll need to win a lottery to justify the purchase though... The Canon's range of DSLR's are a very close second though.
Nice pics...
